About Joe Garecht
Joe Garecht is the founder of Garecht Fundraising Associates and has 25 years of experience leading non-profits and helping them raise more money. His specialty is helping organizations systemize their fundraising to dramatically increase the amount of money they raise.
Joe is a world-recognized fundraising consultant, author and speaker… and has helped countless non-profits escape the donor treadmill by finding new donors, making more asks, and building fundraising strategies that get results.
His approach is simple — in order to be successful, your non-profit needs to build a systemized and scalable strategy, and then implement that strategy consistently. The fundraising strategies Joe creates are tailored to each non-profit, and based on data-driven best practices and state-of-the-art fundraising tactics.
The Experience Your Non-Profit Needs
Prior to launching Garecht Fundraising Associates, Joe was the founder of The Fundraising Authority, which at the time was the world’s largest provider of online fundraising training for non-profit organizations. Through The Fundraising Authority, Joe had the opportunity to train over 50,000 non-profit fundraisers, executives, and board members on all aspects of fundraising and development. He also spent time running a major consulting group at one of the nation’s largest non-profit consulting firms.
Joe previously served as the Executive Director of BLOCS: Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools, as the Executive Director of Philanthropy at the Jack Miller Center, and as the Development Director of The Philadelphia Children’s Alliance. In addition, Joe currently serves as a Senior Advisor at the Center for Major Gifts. He lives in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Rutgers University.

Ashley Garecht, Director of Donor Research
As our Director of Donor Research, Ashley provides expert assistance to our clients in building individual, corporate, and foundation prospect lists, wealth screening donor lists, and developing prospecting strategies. Before working with Garecht Fundraising Associates, Ashley worked at the White House and the U.S. Department of Commerce, served in a leadership role at Reston Interfaith Shelter, worked with a major national non-profit consulting firm, and taught at the Charlotte Mason Academy.
Chris Rodgers, Director of Donor Communications and Grantwriting
As our Director of Donor Communications and Grantwriting, Chris develops compelling fundraising materials, including appeal letters, letters of inquiry, fliers, website content, and other donor communications. Chris also creates outstanding grant proposals and grant materials to solicit foundation support for our clients. Before joining GFA, Chris served as a development assistant for a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit and as a grant-writing consultant at a national consulting firm.
Maria Brooks, Data Analyst
As our Data Analyst, Maria helps clients analyze their donor data and measure KPIs, creates reports and dashboards for clients, and helps organizations with systemizing their fundraising programs. She also assists clients with moves management, donor tracking, and mailing lists.
